March 27/08 Album Update!! JODY made a pit stop in New York City between shows this week to master the new album BIG SKY with senior mastering engineer Greg Calbi (John Mayer, Once Soundtrack, Stephen Malkmus) at Sterling Sound Studios. The album was mixed in Detroit by Al Sutton (Kid Rock, R. Kelly, Sheryl Crow) at Rustbelt Studios and produced by JODY and engineered by Greg Leonard at Big Sky Recording. JODY will be heading out to California next to work on his movie Grabtime and to shoot two videos.
An official album release date will be announced shortly.
Jody will be at Andiamo's tonight (Thursday) and the Seacliffe Inn this Saturday.

January 14/08 An Evening with Jody Raffoul and his Band Windsor's St. Clair Centre for the Arts was the setting for the second annual B-Rad (Bullying, Relationships, Alcohol and Drugs) benefit concert featuring the Jody Raffoul band. Opening the evening was Jill Jack, accompanied by Billy Brandt, demonstrating why Jill's music is one of the Detroit area's favorite things. The audience seemed to know they were in for a special night.
Jody and the boys took to the stage with Ten Times from the Like a Star album followed by new tracks Days Gone Bye and Stay. The band performed many of the songs off their forthcoming new album. High energy renditions of Chasing Paper, World of Temptation and Love is the Answer had the full house rockin' in their seats.
Then the lights dimmed and a piano took center stage. Jody quietly sat down and treated the home town crowd to a solo rendition of Grabtime - an autobiographical tune about growing up amidst his tight knit family in Leamington, Ontario. The piano left the stage, but the audience remained enthralled as Jody stood in a single spotlight with his acoustic guitar. His honest, soulful version of Kenny Rogers' Sweet Music Man reached straight to the hearts of listeners.
A true highlight of the show was Jody's surprise introduction of eldest son Billy Raffoul, age 13, who took the stage to play electric guitar to Dad's acoustic on U2's Miracle Drug. It was a beautiful, emotional performance to which the crowd responded with a standing ovation.
Jody was rejoined by band mates Wes Buckley and Shakey Fowlkes for an "unplugged" set of some of the band's favorite cover songs. Between stories of the road, the three friends paid tribute to Humble Pie (their version of For Your Love) and the Beatles (Nowhere Man) in three-part harmony.
B-Rad Committee organizers then introduced Andria Crabbe, the winner of the Jody Raffoul scholarship which is awarded each year to a St. Clair College student gifted in the arts. Together with Jody, they presented the third-year music student from LaSalle with her award. Congratulations Andria!
Charlie Lambrick and Greasy Carlisi reunited with the band to play the B-Rad theme song Learn From Me, followed by high octane versions of Like a Star, It’s Only Love and Everybody Pull Together. Despite being more than two hours into the set, fans were yelling for more. As always, Jody and the band responded to the enthusiasm with an encore that included Light of Day and the brand new Should I Have Known Better, featuring Jody’s good friend (and sound engineer on the new record) Gregg Leonard on guitar. The show closed with yet another standing ovation. Jody and team will be hard pressed to outdo themselves next year!
Jody would like to thank the B-Rad Committee, especially Ron Seguin and Kevin Beaudoin, Crash for his sound work, Donnie for the lighting, and Jody’s Takes the Biscuit management team for making the event a success. And special thanks to all who came out to the show and bought B-Rad CDs in support of this important program.

January 8/07 Border Crossing Information Friday 11th If you live in the USA and plan on crossing the border to Canada, Windsor, Ontario this Friday night to catch JODY performing at the Chrysler Theatre, we have checked with Immigration and all you need to cross back-forth is your Birth Certificate.
The rule regards having a valid Passport to cross the border has been delayed, so again all you need is your Birth Certificate.

In The Studio Jody has been very busy this past month, not only writing but in the studio constantly!!
